Camp Roger Home School Program

Our Philosophy:

After a successful inaugural year, the Camp Roger Home School Program will continue in 2011-2012! A setting of 190 acres of forests, lakes and wetlands, combined with an experienced staff and a series of excellent educational programs, has made this opportunity a worthwhile investment in your child’s life!

Camp Roger Staff:

Phil Warners has been the Director of Outdoor Education at Camp Roger for over a decade. Prior to working at camp, Phil was a classroom teacher in various Christian schools for 17 years. Camp Roger now serves approximately 10,000 school-aged children annually. Phil trains his staff to be knowledgeable about the subject matter and hires only those who love children and strive to reflect the love of God to them.

Description:

Each September Camp Roger offers an outdoor educational program which serves families of homeschooled children ages 6-12. The program runs once a month through May. The goals of this program are to:

  • provide students with quality instruction in outdoor education,
  • present material from a Christian perspective,
  • engage children in a different topic each month, and
  • point the students toward a great God and the proper role we have in caring for His world.

Cost and Time:

The program will meet at Camp Roger one day per month from September through May. Families may sign up for the Monday class, the Tuesday class, or the Wednesday class. There will be a limit of 45 students for each day.

Class is from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Parents are responsible for providing sack lunches and transportation.
