Joe's Big Race 2010

It was a chilly forcast but the teams were hot on the trail all day long, and our fifth annual race was absolutely amazing.  We want to extend a HUGE thanks to all of the team members who fundraised like crazy before  the race and then eagerly took on every challenge we dished out.  From team introductions to final challenge these team members displayed outstanding sportsmanship, humor, and guts.  This race is all about raising money so kids can come to camp, and we're thrilled to report that our teams and corporate and individual sponsors came up with $38,000 for the cause.  Every team raised more than the required $1,000.   Just amazing.  

Congratulations to Team Clean Zwiep for being the top money-raisers with $5200, and to last year's champs Kindawannabeatcha for winning the running clock portion of the race.  Kuddos to Team Mac-Attack, who, despite their sorry finish last year, was in first place after the morning events!  The big winner was Team TBD who swung Kyle around on the platform at lightning speed and won the big prize (even after Dave said he just about lost his religion on the Giant Word Search).  Way to hang in there till the end!  

Thanks to all of our amazing volunteers who came out and did exactly what we told them to do.  You folks make it all possible.  Wear your shirt with pride.

Joe's Big Race was created in fond memory of "Indian Joe" Cizauskas, who was a kind neighbor to Camp Roger and a true keeper of the land, but honestly never raced anywhere.
